Does thread always break when stitching to the left, and ONLY then? Yes. No.
Perform Micro Adjustments on Checkspring (this is the wrong video).
Install a new, 134MR 4.0 needle with long groove running down the front. Still breaks? Yes. No.
Re-thread top of machine carefully, following diagram or video. .
Solution wonderful.
