If you're not sure if your care experience or the placement type is eligible for support, contact us for further advice. Care could have been provided by a Local Authority (Council), a religious organisation or charity. Depending on when you were in care and the circumstances, the setting could have been called specific names such as a List D school, a Borstal, a close support.

Care experienced students studying full-time courses below HNC level can apply through the College for the FE Care Experienced Bursary. This is £202.50 per week with an additional amount for travel added if you live more than 2 miles from your campus. Students who have been in care at any time are eligible to apply. You will need to provide a letter from your Social Worker to confirm that you have experienced care. Don’t worry if you’re not sure, we can help you to access the right support. .
